I guess it was fate (no offense to the recipe I originally linked to because I haven't actually tried it yet, but it looks perfectly delicious). Instead of making that one, I found THIS recipe and made it instead.
Cue angels singing!
These are to die for! Seriously! I have made two pans of them in the last two weeks. And, no, I haven't eaten them all myself (although I really, really could have).
Even if you are not a big nut/pecan eater you really, truly should try this recipe. It is pure, rich buttery goodness and I really can't say enough about it. (My mouth is actually watering thinking about them!)
I found the recipe at Just a Taste -- a fantastic food blog that you must check out if you like to cook and bake. The author, Kelly, knows her way around the kitchen. A fact I would like to proclaim about myself one day. And, thanks to her, I can now say with confidence that I know how to make a kick-bootay pecan pie bar. And so can you if you try this recipe.
***UPDATE: I just found this awesome US - UK baking conversion information at the wonderful blog "Sweet 2 Eat." I will be posting this link on my Recipes page as well so, hopefully, my UK readers can try some of my recipes now!
